Fiancee visa (k-1 Visa)
A Fiance(e) visa is a temporary visa, non-immigrant visa allowing the lady to enter the US for the purpose of marriage. The visa is only valid for 90 days, during which the marriage must occur.
The visa involves little or no contact with the foreign government. The countries of the former Soviet Union permit their citizens to exit freely on Fiance(e) visas.
This is what is required for you to be able to file a petition using the K-1 process:
- Original birth certificate or other documents to show that you are a US citizen. Permanent residents of the U.S. are not allowed to obtain Fiancee visas.
- Documents supporting that you can legally marry.
- Completed and signed Petition for Alien Fiance (form I-129F) .
- Completed and signed Biographic Information (form G-325A).
- Your color photo and one of your fiance with special facial image.
- Check payable to "Immigration and Naturalization Service" for the total of $95.
- Other documents, correspondence and photos proving your serious relationship with your fiance.
- You have a serious intention to marry within 90 days of the fiancee's arrival in America.
- You must meet the minimum income requirement for the fiancee visa petitioner, prepare a Form I-134 Affidavit of Support for your fiancee to bring to the Embassy interview.
